Career Development at Allenby Douglas
At Allenby Douglas, we believe in recognising talent and supporting every team member to reach their full potential. Within our Care Team, there are many opportunities to grow and progress in your career.
You’ll begin your journey with us as a Band 1 Health and Social Carer, where you’ll gain hands-on experience and build confidence in providing high-quality, person-centred care. After completing your probation period, you’ll have the opportunity to apply for a Band 2 Senior Health and Social Carer position. This role comes with additional responsibilities, such as maintaining and reviewing care plans, updating the office team on any changes, mentoring new staff, signing off staff competencies, and supporting your own key clients.
As your skills and experience develop, you may advance to a Band 3 Advanced Health and Social Carer role. This senior position includes all the responsibilities of Band 1 and 2 roles, along with new challenges such as carrying out spot checks, assisting with initial client assessments, and undertaking specialist training in an area of your choice. We’re proud of our dedicated team, including our four current Band 3 Health and Social Carers and two Training Champions, who play a key role in mentoring and inspiring others to achieve their best.

Having previously worked for another care provider that offered little support, I can honestly say that Allenby Douglas is by far the best. I joined the company in 2017 as a Band 1 Health and Social Carer and have been supported every step of the way in my development. During my time here, I’ve completed my NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care and progressed through to Band 2, before being successfully appointed as a Band 3. In 2022, I was proud to receive my 5 Years’ Long Service Award — along with a very generous bonus! As a Band 3, I’ve also been given the amazing opportunity by our Registered Manager to become a Champion, allowing me to gain even more experience and knowledge in an area I’m passionate about.
